When I was young, my grandmother instilled the idea that the intangible should hold more weight in your life than the tangible. I spent the middle and high school summer on exotic family vacations, Europe, Caribbean and the likes. I appreciate everything she instilled. While she is no longer here, but her influence still effects my everyday life.

This since of wanderlust is stronger than ever in the prep for this new age.  I am about to reach a milestone in my life. That’s right, the big 2-5 is right around the corner. I know most of you are thinking… yeah, wait until you hit 30, or 49 or any other age. Knowing my quarter-life is coming up I have decided to make moves in a big way. After doing some research into what kind of crazy antics the normal life crisis entails. When my parents hit a mid life crisis, my dad got a motorcycle and my mom got a cute little convertible. The motorcycle has since been sold and while my mom still owns the convertible, the top hardly comes down anymore. I needed a list, a few things to see/do/own instead of just a one and done.

After a gentle mindless browsing to blogs and pinterest, one reoccurring thought became more and more exiting for me. Whatever I do, I want it to be grand. Not something anyone else I know has done, but not something completely unattainable. Walk in… the Seven New Wonders of the World. Here is my kicker, all 7 before I turn 30.

Now, to be fair, I have already marked on of those off the list. During that time of traveling around with my grandmother, the Coliseum in Rome was visited in awe and wonder. I am starting to work with which order I want to visit the remaining six with in 5 years. Being a natural planner, sometimes the research is half of the fun.

I wonder where the road will lead now… Machu Picchu, Peru? Petra, Jordan? Great Wall by chance?! It is all so exciting.
